Frequently Asked Questions

Can Ambii help me find the best music for my business?

Absolutely, yes! We are always here to help guide you through the process of finding the music that helps engage your customers and build your brand.

What is a station and why do I need one?

A station allows you to easily control the music that plays at your establishment(s). If you are streaming music to your customers or employees you need a contract with the Performance Rights Organizations (PROs) to pay for your royalties. Ambii is the only music streaming service that offers you free licensing for your business.

Is Ambii really free?

Yes, we offer completely free music streaming from our 63 million song catalog. We also offer upgraded services for more control over in-store promotions, real-time analytics, and Jukebox feature.

Why do I have to pay PROs such as ASCAP, BMI and others?

Playing music in your business without paying royalties to the PROs is akin to stealing from the artist. This is how musicians make their money – and the PROs are there to act as protection to make sure they get what they have coming to them.

Are there fees, fines or penalties for not having a PRO license for my business?

If you do not receive the proper authorization you can be held liable for damages from a minimum of $750 up to a maximum of $150,000 per song played.
